Quaker Chemical Laboratory Facilities
Conshohocken, Pennsylvania
In the process of moving their corporate headquarters from a 1960s office building into their former chemical plant and renovating their four-story laboratory building, Quaker Chemical demolished more than 40 buildings and other structures on their site, built an investment office building and determined to convert the property into a business campus environment. In order to further the visual and functional connection between their office and lab facilities, Space Design Incorporated designed the “Annex,” which re-orients the main entrance of the lab toward the corporate office building and provides additional office space for chemists and technicians. The design mimics the entrance to the facing office facility to further reinforce that connection.
In May 2002 we completed our first
project for Quaker Chemical which included Programming, Planning & Design of Quaker’s new Headquarters building and newly renovated warehouse building at the former Quaker Chemical Plant building.
